On January 7, 2025, unprecedented wildfires swept through Los Angeles, devastating both Altadena, Pacific Palisades and Malibu communities, destroying more than 16,000 structures, severely damaging more than a dozen schools, and ravaging over 50,000 acres, including beloved parks & forests. Overnight, families lost their homes and dispersed to find temporary housing. Wildlife lost their natural habitat. Schools turned to online education and sought new locations – sometimes in distant areas of the city. After years of disruption from COVID, we suddenly faced renewed isolation, uncertainty and in some cases despair.

TREEAMS (Together Revitalizing Environments and Elevating Awareness by Mobilizing Society) is a student-led movement planting trees, restoring communities, and reimagining Los Angeles as a greener, more resilient city. In partnership with Dr. Jane Goodall, UCLA, and local schools, students are turning ideas into action—healing neighborhoods, learning climate solutions, and growing hope across generations.

In order to lower the temperature of Los Angeles by 2°F, we aim to raise $2 million over the next five years to support the T.R.E.E.A.M.S. initiative, covering essential costs such as tree care, program development, educational outreach, workforce training, and collaborative partnerships.

100% of your donation goes exclusively to the TREEAMS initiative, funding tree plantings, environmental education, and student-led restoration projects. For questions or to get involved, please email treeams@sevenarrows.org

Jane Goodall's Philosophy

Having written The Book of Hope, Jane Goodall has consistently taught us the importance of hope —  hope that takes action and works with determination to move toward the small speck of light at the end of a tunnel. This is the hope we need as we face the daunting challenge of rebuilding our beloved communities, both in Altadena, Pacific Palisades and Malibu.

At a time when depression, anxiety, and loneliness are at record highs among young people, it is essential that we model optimism, connection and resilience. By providing young people with the opportunity to come together and take positive action, we teach them to not only heal from the fires, but also prepare to face future challenges with hope and resilience.
